Mountain rainbow

Dear Friends
the whether in Verona last weekend was not very good. The town was sad an clearly signed by the ramification of the Tropical Cyclone Rolf that more severely invested South Italy and Malta. However, optimism and hope for a better situation were restored in me by the vision of the mountain rainbow that manifested itself in the Val d'Adige:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Val_d'Adige_(territory)  after Trento:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trento during my journey back to Munich. Unlike what happens with the rainbows produced by humidity after rain:
http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2014/03/double-rainbow.html
or near to a waterfall:
http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2014/08/embracing-rainbow.html
a mountain rainbow is caused by humidity due to humidity condensation on the sides of mountains. Any comment from your side is welcome.

Osteria Sottoriva Verona

Dear Friends
I took advantage, last weekend, for going to Verona for a relaxing visit. I decided to eat this time at the Osteria Sottoriva (http://www.theguardian.com/travel/2011/feb/08/verona-budget-eats-drinks  ). This Osteria (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteria ) preserves its original soul of the old Verona and it is dear to my earth because it is linked to the memory of Ernesto Omerti a comrade of mine of the period of the University. He was studying Physics in Trento ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Trento ) and I was studiying Astronomy in Padua (http://www.pd.astro.it/index.php/en/ ). To celebrate each exam passed, we met willingly at the Casa del Vino (see in this blog: http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2014/05/casa-del-vino-verona.html ) and in this Osteria Sottoriva. From the start to the end of our University studies, comfortably sited in these two Osterie and in joy, we travelled almost over all the major Italian wines. Please, have a look to the images and i case of comments, please let me know.

P.S.: the inscription on the blackboard, in the Veneto language, declares: "drive not much because you have to drink".

Farewell-JLD

Dear Friends
for me it is a bit sad to say, but I am happy for our Jean-Luc, our M.Polo Vice-President and at the same time President of the EPO Astro Club and the EurAstro Association
(http://www.eurastro.de), for his next well-earned departure in retirement, anticipated by his farewell party (see images). I was lucky in meeting Jean-Luc at the beginning of my carreer at the EPO here in Munich in the elder 1990. Together, I lived many exciting  EurAstro / M.Polo missions bringing me to the discovery of realities and lands all over the world (one for all, see in this blog the Finland mission:
 http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2013/03/aurorae-2013.html
http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2013/03/finland-etno-activities.html

http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2013/03/helsinki-atheneum-luomus.html
http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2013/04/walking-in-finland.html ) .
I am happy also to announce that Jean-Luc will remain member of our M.Polo Club and will continue to contribute us with his ideas and suggestions to be developed. It is just of yesterday his proposal of visiting the Spitzebergen Island
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spitsbergen ) at the end of this year for observing again Polar lights (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurora ).
Dear Jean-Luc enjoy the free time of life that opens in front of you.

Giurassic and Cretaceous

Dear Friends
it was with pleasure that Gianni and me, we attended the Minaralientage 2014:
https://munichshow.com/en/ at the Messestadt:
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messestadt_Riem here in Munich.
Although devoted mainly to minerals the visit allowed us to form in our minds the rich frame about the various plants, animals and living interactions in the Giurassic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jurassic and Cretaceous:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cretaceous
With the following images, we intend to share with you said rich frame with only one warning in case of interest: as more a fossil like perfect as higher is the risk of fraud.
Any comment from your side is welcome.
