Emulators of Marco Polo

Dear Friends
brothers Schlagintweit http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gebr%C3%BCder_Schlagintweit at the Alpines Museum here in München http://www.muenchen.de/sehenswuerdigkeiten/orte/119227.html with their four year expedition Über den Himalaya http://www.alpenverein.de/kultur/neue-sonderausstellung-im-alpinen-museum-ueber-den-himalaya-die-expedition-der-brueder-schlagintweit-nach-indien-und-zentralasien-1854-bis-1858_aid_15146.html show themselves as real emulators of Marco Polo because with their delicate aquerelles, their collections and publications extended and enriched the content of Il Milione http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Il_Milione of our Marco. No aspect of  Himalaya escaped their curiosity and attention and I am fortunate to have seen again, through their eyes, my familiar Himalaya http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2011/11/nepal-himalaya.html , http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2011/11/nepal-temples-in-kathmandu.html , http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2011/11/nepal-panauti.html .

Messengers of Spring

Dear Friends
the announce of spring in Munich, unfortunately, come not by from sunny, fresh and warm days but rather from seasonal poisonous messengers that our Gianni signalled to me. Pulsatilla http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulsatilla and grape hyacints http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscari , http://homeguides.sfgate.com/grape-hyacinth-bulbs-poisonous-81618.html in all their varieties make fine shows in flower beds and gardens. Don't touch them and keep friend animals and your children away from them, but enjoy their vision and the sweet harmonies they suggests.

Munich eclipse 20/03/2015

Dear Friends
the Eclipse Observation Session organised on 20/03/2015 by our M.Polo Club and the ASTRO Club in Munich was well attended and successful thanks to the favourable whether. I was surprised by the massive and enthusiastic interest to the eclipse manifested by the convened public - see the images. The Sun delighted us with superb visions of itself and its features, both in visible light and H alpha http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H-alpha (solar images - courtesy Dr. M. Rudolf). See in the images the spectacular solar eruptions http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_prominence at the solar bord, the sun spot http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunspot , the granulation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granule_(solar_physics) and the filaments http://spaceweather.com/glossary/filaments.html on the solar disc. Enjoy the images and share your opinions.
