Bunkers around Plouider (Finistère - FR)

Dear Friends
Brittany evocates a sad period for France: the Occupation by Germany and the presence of the German Army. Here and there, sometime masked by the vegetation and filled with waste, sometime superbly exposed to the risk and abandoned, the German WW II bunkers witness the danger of the war and the necessity of protection for defending the Goulven Bay . Having time and weather permitting I was on the sites of the German  antiaircraft battery and artillery observatory at Kérilien completely covered by the vegetation and of the artillery batteries Av ? at RumadiouAv 55 at PlouiderAv59 Unstrut at Kerbreslauen preserving in a relatively good state their concrete artillery monuments H669 and H671 (see the images). Any comment from your side is welcomed.

Bonus Goulven

Dear Friends
Goulven encloses certainly one of the best treasure of Breton religiosity in its Saint Goulven church. Visible from afar, the church provides (see the images) lion gargoyles (see also in this blog: Gargoyles in Munich) and a magnificent great organ (see for example in this blog: Ausburg OrgelnNuremberg Orgel Music, Belfast Fisherwick Church ) which further enrich our experience and knowledge in the corresponding centers of interest of M.Polo Club. Any comment from your side is welcomed.

Kesker's Dolmen

Dear Friends
I love Brittany also for its power of evocating contemporary and far periods of the human life through its monuments often forgotten in the country. This is not the case of the megalithic Dolmen of Kesker or Chréac'h Gallic (48.621N;  4.291W) not far from Plouider (Finistère - FR). It is well know, although falsely indicated on the maps as Dolmen de Treguelc'hier. It is not easy to arrive to it because no indication announce it. It was only after the dialogue with a farmer: "follow this road, you cannot fail to meet it" that I arrived in front of it (see the images). This witness of a past common culture extended from North Africa to  Europe (see in this blog also Dolmen of Ribl and Dolmen d'Amenon), through Ukraine and Russia up to Korea , is encased now between two modern roads, that strongly reduce its monumentality but not prevent him (i.e. it) to unfold his narratives through its silent messages.

Maria Lionza

Dear Friends
it is always the case in Brittany to visit the Abbaye of Notre-Dame de Daoulas because it has always something to offer for those thristy of knowledge. Its officinal garden is now in full bloom and is an ideal place to host Maria Lionza. The images of the talented artist Cristina Garcia Rodero  permit to locate the elements of  this cult concurrent to the Christianity (see also in this blog Christian Reforme) in the modern Venezuela . Purification through fire and water, laying on of hands, Trance  allow in this faith the contact of each one with himself, his health, the spirits and the deity. Any comment from your side is welcomed.
