Sleeping bats

Dear Friends
probably some of you and also myself, we acquired the misconception that bats sleep in the vertical position turned upside down. But, in Dinard I learned that this is not true for all the bats. In fact, in opening the window shutters of my room, I was scared by discovering a motionless black mass corresponding to a group of three bats, that I am pleased to consides as a family formed by the father, the mother and one son or daughter, placidly asleep lying on their bellys (see the images). Invested by the light they reanimated and slowly one after the other took flight letting me dumbfounded. Comments from your side are welcomed and I would be grateful if you can help me to identify the specie of these bats.

Bonne Fortune & Mauvais Sorte

Dear Friends
Bonne Fortune & Mauvais Sort  (Good Fortune & Bad Luck) at the Daoulas Abbey in rhis beginning of September is a showcase of the human need of protection against the unknown. In some way it discloses a deep human fragility against which many persons engage themself for its overcoming. I think that real clearvoyant are very rear. The majority of the magicians and sorcerers, often through strange rituals, only provide their needy with good words for their consolation. If so, their capability should not be seen as too bad.

Daoulas - Late Summer Flowers

Dear Friends
despite the late Summer, the medicinal plant gardens of the Abbaye de Daoulas, also this strange 2016, is surprising for the variety of flowers it reveals. Jellow and blue, green and orange, their shapes (see the images) witness the severe kind of survival adaptation they experienced for arriving up to us avoiding extinction. Their beauty witnesses the inconcevability of a world without them.

Schad's tree trunk

Dear Friends
the talented German artist Robert Schad is the guest star at the Daoulas Abbey. He manifested his presence  through his essential steel creations. Through their solid and twisted forms they allude to abstract concepts cherished to the artist. However, the better creation I seen is certainly a detour from Schad's abitual creations. It is a clear and concret creation of what it is not, i.e a felled tree trunk (see the images).

Un Chevalet sur l'Elorn

Dear Friends
as in the past (see in our M.Polo blog: Landerneau dans L'RetroSirenes et Dragons) also this year Landerneau provides the guests with its traditional summer open air exhibition. Un Chevalet sur l'Elorn shows past and recent images of its life through the views of different painters. All in the Chevalet indicates that the city coulored life rotated (see the images) around its Pont de Rohan (Rennes) bridge, river port, market square and the churches of Saint Houardon  and Saint Thomas of Cantorbery .
Comments are welcomed.
