Dear Friends
the Kremlin in Moscow, in its actual aspect, was built by initiative of Ivan III the Great (1462-1505). What I ignored is that Ivan invited, a tradition maintained later by Peter the Great for Saint Petersburg, to take part in the works also Italian master architects as A. Fioravanti, P.A. Solari, M. Ruffo and A. da Caresana. Some of the cathedrals, arranged around the Cathedrals' place inside the Kremlin, are also works of Italian architects. The S. Michel Cathedral (Arhangel'skij Sobor) is a master work of the Venetian architect A. Lamberti from Montagnana (Vicenza - IT). The Bell Tower of Ivan the Great (Kolokol'nija Ivana Velikovo) is a master work of the Marco Bono (Bon Frjanz). The Assumption Cathedral (Uspenskij Sobor) is a master work of A. Fioravanti. The Diamond Palace (Granovitaja Palata) on a side of the place, similar to the Diamond Palaces in Ferrara (IT) and Verona (IT), is a master work of M. Ruffo and P. A. Solari. The images give you an idea of the architectural characteristics of the Kremlin's cathedrals.
Salutations
Giancarlo
