the whether of wind and rain in Brittany (FR) during my holidays of last year has pushed me to the visit of the Musée de la Marine in Brest. The Musée is located in the Brest Castle:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau_de_Brest , close to the Military Marine Academy and, although in restoration, it allows the visitor to have hints inside the difficult life of the people living and working on the sea, both in peace and in war. Impressive is a German submarine Seehund built in 1944 and used by the French Marine as S622 after the war and the collection of paintings of sheeps of the official Marine painters.
