I am just arriving from Verona, where I seen that the long works of consolidation and restauration of the triunphal Arch of the Gens Gavia came now to the end and now it is possible to enjoi the arch in all its magnificence The history of the arch you can read under:

What I have to say is that the kind of restauration of the arch is neither conservative because the signs of the transformations of its matter during the time were practically completely removed, nor critical because the replaced parts are not easy to see. Rather, it appears a "restore" restauration for providing us with the arch in a form that actually exhisted or is supposed to be existed at the beginning of its life.
