Dear Friends
one of the due tributes that Ljubljana pay to the centenary of the outbreak of the WWI is, in this year 2014, a small but rich of deep significance exhibition in the prisons of the Castle. Behind the apparently smiling or indifferent faces of Italian prisoners of war (POWs) captured after the defeat of the Italian Army at Kobarid (Caporetto) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Caporetto) it is perceivable the effort of the Austro-Hungarian propaganda to show the more than acceptable living conditions of the POWs and their desolation against their uncertain destiny. The images, I hope, can add to your awareness.
Salutations
Giancarlo
