Islam in China https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_China and in particular in Xi'an has a long tradition and characterises well the areas in which it thrives. But, not only because of the architectures of the mosques, see in the images the Great Mosque in Xi'an https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Mosque_of_Xi%27an and of the Muslim districts, which naturally mix with the Chinese culture, but especially, as can be seen, by the vibrant life that develops around a myriads of small shops.
