Last Wednesday (19 March 2014) in Rabat (Malta) was celebrated the feast of St.Joseph. This is a traditional religious feast which attracts a lot of visitors as it is held during winter and so during a period in which no feasts are celebrated. This is unlike in summer when every Sunday there are religious feasts in various cities in Malta. It is also the only feast held during the season of Lent.

The images below try to capture the essence of the celebration held. The final set of images show also the fireworks which were then let off during the feast. The photos are shot after the fireworks are manufactured and sealed, which makes them safer to photograph and handle (no direct exposure of oxidizing chemicals like potassium chlorate).
