yesterday evening after my habitual Taekwondo training, having a bit time and being not too much tired, I decided to test the performances of Helicon Focus 6
http://www.heliconsoft.com/heliconsoft-products/helicon-focus/
in combination with my micro station MS-01:
http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2015/02/microscopy-first-light.html .
Focus 6 provides three built-in stacking methods: weighted average, deep imaging, pyramid and let me say that I am pleased to show you the following five micro-images of the sand of a forgotten Brittany beach, each one resulting from the stacking of five single images of a same micro-view area according to one or another of the Focus 6 methods. Recognisable are rests of foraminifers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foraminifera , radiolarians: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiolaria , differently coloured rocks and ... micro-diamonds ? Any comment and suggestion for further advances in micro-imaging is welcomed.
Salutations
Giancarlo
