more exciting was one of the Veronese Easterns battles between Napoleonian soldiers and Venetian soldiers which took place in the past as today exactly at the same place, in front of Castelvecchio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castelvecchio_(Verona) . Besieged in the castle, the Napoleonians attempted a sortie but were repulsed by the Venetians and the people of Verona. The action, see the images, impressed the public and me. My best congratulations to the organisers.
