I think that everybody knows the Vikings as bloodthirsty barbarians and intrepid navigators. Few known them as traders, the aspect mainly developed by Wikinger ! at Lokschuppen in Rosenheim . Navigating all the rivers, sea and oceans of the antiquity, they reached distant markets and brought goods to their trade centers of Birka and Sigtuna in Sweden, Kaupang in Norway, Ribe and Haitabu originally in Denmark now in Germany. Attentive traders, they pay attention to the metal content of the coins and don't hexitated to cut them in case of absence of submultiples coins (see the images).
