Situle

Dear Friends

I am passionated by the singular and strange Situle phenomenon; in essence bronze vassels from a domain extending (I believed) from Veneto to Slaovenia having distinctive, common features like their VII -VI cen b.C., their bronze component, their truncated cone shape and their toric life scenes bands, which reveal a common (Venetic ??) substrate of the different cultures that produced them. The mosaic of the phenomenon I tried to build, comprising the Vace Situla and the other of the Situla Festival at the Narodni Muzej Slovenje in Ljubljana, the Benvenuti Situla at the Museo Nazionale Atestino in Este (Veneto - IT), is now completed with the Situle Arnoaldi and the Situla della Certosa at the Archeological Civic Museum in  Bologna which provide further information about the extension of said domain.
