Ueno Park ! This is what I discovered in looking in internet for Japanese marvels, for filling two free days in Tokio. Easy to reach by train or by underground which sometime travel tens of meters above the ground. It proposes a conspiquos variety of temples, shrines, museums and the Ueno Zoo . From where to start ? No Mori or Royal Art Museum, obviously! The hosted painting collection is an exceptional Japanese culture monument (see the images). Moreover, the No Mori policy: free of charge entrance and free of charge imaging is highly appreciable, especially by visitors coming from far countries. If you have some talent for painting, don't disdain to take inspiration from the No Mori paintings.
