Shintó

Dear Friends
the Shinto (not to be confused with Zen, with Taoism, with Confucianism and with Buddhism) is the religion (or philosophy or education, if you prefer) of Kamis which, for the believers, preside to many various, let me say all, the nature manifestations. It is practiced either in open air spaces or in shrines, as here at the Meiji Jingu in Tokyo. Announced by Toriis and difficult to be understood by occidentals and not aquainted people, it is very easy to be practiced: 1st.: water (hand) purification, 2nd.: two curtseys, 3rd.: two claps and the attention of the local Kami/s is captured. The request of what is need can at this point be submitted. The Kami/s normally listen and react/s positively as testify by the many offers (ex-voto ? - see the Sake  barrels and wine barrels in the images) accumulated at the Meiji Jingu.
Salutations
Giancarlo
