Linea Meridiana slab - Milan (IT)

Dear Friends
our Gianni sent me the following image od a Meridian Line slab he has seen at the Catholic University http://www.unicatt.it/ in Milan (IT) asking if it is part of a sun dial. My reply was no, it only mark a geographical longitude and, as Gianni also observed, it is not said that the slab is in its original position. The main inscription on the slab over the images of the ram and its astronomical symbol said:
Meridian Line - vertical horizon - constructed accurately by the students - a.D. 1756
The inscription on the bottom right H ¦ M - 19 (or 10) 4 is not clear to me.
Interesting in the main inscription the ligature on the third line of the characters H and O at the beginning of the word HOrizon.
Any comment from your side is welcome.

Walking in Finland

Dear Friends
last Tuesday 09/04/2012 took place the announced EurAstro - M.Polo joint Lecture: Walking in Finland, in which the results of the EurAstro - M.Polo mission to Finland were presented. The Lecture was well attended and let me say that, visibly, the impression caused to the public by the report of the mission and the spectacular images of the Northern lights or Aurorae borealis was deep. In particular, a film showing the evolution of an aurora obtained by Jean-Luc linking together images of said aurora was well appreciated. At the end, many questions from the public were directed to the physical aspects of the aurorae and the organisation of trips to Finland. Any comment from your side is welcomed.

Planetarium - Bochum (DE)

Dear Friends
the proposal of visiting the Planetarium of Bochum (DE) ( http://www.planetarium-bochum.de/ ) and to attend a planetary and cosmic performance went from Jean-Luc and I was very happy to accept it. The Planetarium is hosted in a modern glass-beton dome. In the interior the visitor can enjoi images of cosmic objects dominated by an old Planetarium projector, before to access the projection hall in which a modern projector is installed. Unfortunately it was not allowed to take images during the projection. Any comment from your side is welcomed.

Bochum (DE) - Deutsches Bergbau Museum

Dear Friends
last Sunday 07/04/2013 took place the announced M.Polo excursion to Bochum (DE). Participants were Jean-Luc and me. Goals of the excursion were the visit of the Deutsches Bergbau Museum (DBM) ( http://www.bergbaumuseum.de/index.php?page=1 ) and its temporary exhibition Unbekanntes Kasachstan ( http://www.unbekanntes-kasachstan.de/Home ). The DBM clearly manifests, as the Deutsches Museum here in Munich, the pride of the Germans for their technological achievements. Presented in the halls are full scale mining devices, the underground shows full scale mining tunnels with the devices used by the miners, the mining tower offer superb visions of Bochum and its environs. The images give you an impression of the DBM.

Patenting Art ?

Dear Friends
in Verona, during the Eastern holidays I meet Mr. Bruno Bovi, a singular artist who invented what I can define the "ceramic painting".  In fact, the "painting" method developed by Bruno consists in producing coloured ceramics bas-reliefs of mainly panoramas of Verona and present them in glass frames. For protecting his "painting" method Bruno filed the Italian national patent application VR2007A000054 titled: Formelle. The following images present Bruno at work on his "ceramic paintings".
