Schluss mit Gentechnik !

Dear Friends
working in the field of patents, I am acquainted with protestations and demostrations of peoples and organisations, like Greenpeace (http://www.greenpeace.org/international/en/) and others, against gene patenting and gene technology in general. However, I was surprised, last Sunday 24/05/2014, to be faced in Munich with such a kind of demonstration. I consider that exist at least two aspects in the gene technology: its possible misuse against which I am me too and the beneficial of its researches and applications in favour of which I am me too. What I have to say is that from the demonstration it was unclear against which aspect of the gene technology the  people protested.

Harter Stoff - Carbon Autos

Dear Friends
considerable effort by the organisers of Harter Stoff:
http://www.deutsches-museum.de/ausstellungen/sonderausstellungen/
was dedicated to the impact of the carbon technology in the world of vehicles. Probably, without knowing, we are already driving Carbon cars. The Carbon allows not only the production of light, resilient and robust components but also highly robotised production with practically, as the images permit to appreciate, no human presence and intervention.

Harter Stoff - Carbon

Dear Friends
last Sunday 24/05/2014, I visited Harter Stoff - Carbon - das Material der Zukunft
(http://www.deutsches-museum.de/ausstellungen/sonderausstellungen) at the Deutsches Museum (http://www.deutsches-museum.de). Harter Stoff provides, sometimes in a comic way, information and visions of how the Carbon technology is silently pervading, apparently totally beneficially, our environment and life. Any comment from your side is welcomed.

Tête à Tête

Dear Friends
the visit of Tête à Tête mit der modernen Kunst at the Smaek in Munich (www.smaek.de) let Jean-Luc and me a bit disappointed. The deep contrast between modern art of Tête à Tête and the Egyptian classic art of the Smaek indicates that the location of Tête à Tête at the Smaek was inappropriate, and, apart from a portrait of Modigliani:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amedeo_Modigliani ,
the quality of the presented artefacts was not particularly elevated. The images give you an idea of our disappointment, and, sincerely, I don't suggest you to loose your time with Tête à Tête.

Coptic Art in Munich

Dear Friends
on Sunday 18/05/2014, Jean-Luc and me, we visited the advertised exhibition Tête à Tête mit der modernen Kunst at the Staatlisches Museum Ägyptisches Kunst (www.smaek.de) here in Munich. I was pleasantly surprised in noting that that the Smaek is less static than I thought. In fact, apart from Tête à Tête, it evolved by presenting to the public an expanded Coptic section (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coptic_art). The newly presented Coptic portraits, clearly anticipating those of the icons, although mainly funerary, are sometime immersed in a lively, lush Nilotic landscape, which, in my opinion, successfully contribute to consider the person still living and close to the family and friends. Any comment from your side is welcome.
