Gargoyles festival

Dear Friends
you know that the Gargoyles is a centre of interest for our M.Polo Club (see in this blog: Golden City Hall, Dom zu Eichstatt-1Bonus Goulven, Gargoyles in Munich), and on the way to Munich, having time, turning the car to Troyes, the city of fountains (see the images), I never immagined to meet so many of them. It was a bit after noon, all the city restaurants were opened but the splendid, French Gothic Cathedral and St. Urbain basilica unfortunately closed. However, although closed, they gave out a real Gargoyles festival (see the images), showing them disguised as animals, saints and dragoons for my delight.

Eco-Etno-Museum

Dear Friends
on the way of return from Mont Saint-Michel de Brasparts , I turned the car back for the Écomusee des Monts d'Arrée. It is not, as I thought, hosted in a modern, traditional hall, but rather in an original, old, very small Breton village, that add to it an Ethnographic atmosphere (see the images). It conveys the idea of a peaceful, small community living a poor existence, devoided by entertainments and deeply marked by the work. Where they happy ? The Écomuseum has no reply. Probably, they had no hints for seriously investigating this subject.

Nature and nuclear

Dear Friends
in the paradisiacal, natural decor of Mont Saint-Michel de Brasparts, in the Monts d'Arrée, on the bords of the Saint-Michel lake , the ancient nuclear area of Brennilis reminds of the present reality. Although not completely favorable to this kind of energy plants, I admit that they play an irreplaceable key role in a modern world hungry for energy. However, although marked by some minor accidents, its life caused practically no problem with respect to those of its hard, 32 year long attempt of dismantling it, without mentioning the actual slowing down of the economic development of the nearby territory. Comments are welcomed.

Aquitaine

Dear Friends
the Brest harbour reserved me the pleasant surprise to meet the Laplace A793, the Somme A631 and the new French FREMM frigate Provence D652, all moored near the ancient German submarine base. But, better of this, announced by the nervous comings and goings of Armen A677 and Taunoa A681, I had the opportunity to greet the passage of the F70 frigate La_Motte-Picquet D645 and the arrival of the first French FREMM class ship Aquitaine D650. Impeccable in its blue, Stealth livery (see the images), the Aquitaine proudly showed, despite the indifference of its crew, its detection and weapon systems. Comments from your side are welcomed.
