Sirènes et Dragons

Dear Friends
sincerly, I have well appreciated the initiative of the Municipality of Landerneau (Brittany - FR) http://www.ville-landerneau.fr/
of presenting the open air exhibition: Sirènes et Dragons, dedicated to the ancient sculptures that decorate the houses of the town. The merit of the exhibition is to let this ancient heritage not sleeping or ignored but to give to it new life in the immagination and awarness of the people. Of interest, besides of mermaids and dragons, are the representations of the gargoyles (see for reference our blog: http://m-polo.blogspot.nl/2012/02/gargoyles-in-herford.html ) which, according to the theories, represent either fantastic, ferocious creatures preserving a temple or an house from evil influences or infernal creatures dispelled from a church.
