The Creation of Beauty

Dear Friends
Happy 2013 and welcome back to work. Last Sunday, in entering the Deutsches Museum here in Munich for checking the good functioning of my new entry card, my attention was attracted by a poster in negative advertising the exhibition The Creation of Beauty. The exhibition presents photos made by the German-American photographer Frank Eugene, who from 1907 to 1913 was active in Munich, and the photoinstruments (G03B17/00 for those familiar with the Patent classification) in use in that period. The particular sensitivity developed by Eugene for the portraits of persons can be seen in the following images. Note that the photos of Eugene should not be considered of low quality, according to the modern standards, but one of the highest artistic and technical achievements of his epoque. More info about the exhibition at:

Any comment from your side is welcomed.
Salutations
Giancarlo
