Fashing, the Munich's Carnival, approaches as the fracas of its Opening Parade in a central road reminded me today (see the images). Marching groups coming from neighboring municipalities, coloured by their traditional and modern costumes bring it surprisingly closer to the Sfilada del Venare Gnokolar of the Bakanal del Gnoko of Verona. The first lacks a charismatic figure like Papá del Gnoco of the second, although a corresponding, mythical figure like that of the Little Monk exists in the Munich's tradition.
