Tar Pits in LA

Dear Friends

some ponds in LA in which gases and bitumen are continuously rigurgitated from the earth depths gave me an insecurity feeling about what happen under our feet. At La Brea (see also in this blog: Rancho La Brea) they created terrible tar traps in which, unfortunately for them, some unaware human and many animals died. Passionated by paleontology, it was a pleasure for me to visit the Museum (see the images), see paleonthologists at work, and to add it to the Temples of Paleontology visited in the past. My sincere compliments to the Museum responsibles.
