Austellung Hoch Wasser 2013 Halle - Saale

Dear Friends
it was at he moment of leaving Halle, at the Halle Hauptbahnhof (Main Station) that Jean-Luc seen the advertisement of the exhibition Hoch Wasser 2013 Halle / Saale. This exhibition contains images of the catastrophic moments suffered by Halle during the flood of the river Saale at the same time of the flood of the Isar in Munich (see in this blog:
http://m-polo.blogspot.de/2013/06/deluge-in-austria-and-munich.html ). Please have a look to the images to be aware of said sad moments.

3300 BC Mysteriöse Steinzeittöte

Dear Friends
as you know goal of our M.Polo excursion of last Sunday 1st December was the visit of the exhibition "3300 BC Mysteriöse Steinzeittöte und ihre Welt": http://www.mdr.de/sachsen-anhalt/halle/steinzeittote-ausstellung-halle102.html , at the Landesmuseum für Vorgeschicht of Halle: http://www.lda-lsa.de/landesmuseum_fuer_vorgeschichte . The exhibition shows the archaeological discoveries at Salzmünde, i.e. mainly the burials and the skeletons of the victims of religious sacrifices that took place at the ceremonial centre of Salzmünde. Of particular interest the burial containing a group of seven skeletons belonged to three women and four children hosting the haplogroups H5, U3a, V, which indicate that they were Arbins, i.e. non-Indo-European peoples. Please, have a look to the image for having an idea of the information provided by the exhibition.
Have a nice evening.

Schokoladenmuseum Halle

Dear Friends
lat Sunday 01 December 2013 took place the announced M.Polo excursion to Halle (DE) in the former East Germany. The passage from the former West Germany to the former East Germany is not marked by wall or barriers but is appreciable by the monotonous and sad aspect of the houses and by the dirty and abandoned state of industrial complexes. However, Halle, at least in the city centre does not reflect these aspects, but appear clean and hospitable.
The visit of the Schokoladenmuseum of Halle was not in the program of the excursion but it was suggested by Jean-Luc during the trip on the tramway. The Schokoladenmuseum deals with the historical - pre-columbian, artistic and industrial aspects linked to the chocolate in depth, and provides a lot of interesting information. The images that I propose you give an idea of the content of the Schokoladenmuseum.
Any comment from your side is welcomed.

Supertaekwondo in Dachau bei München

Dear Friends
as you know I am a passionate adept of Tae Kwon Do, a Korean self-defence art without weapons which, in my opinion, also aids to ameliorate physical and spiritual performances and health. From 20 July 2013 I am a black belt. Therefore, I was very happy to attend last Saturday 30th November at the Jahnhalle in Dachau bei München the evening of the Tae Kwon Do Champions' Tour 2013: http://supertaekwondo.eu/championstour/Home.html . In this evening the Korean Junior National Team (KJNT) challenged a European Team (ET) composed by junior champions from Italy, Greece, England and Germany. The KJNT outperformed the ET.  My goal at the beginning was to record images and films of the evening for studying after the various Taek techniques and their execution. But, during the evening I realised that I was actually documenting were not only techniques and executions but also emotions of these juniors put in front of their potentially dangerous challenges. The images tell you, I hope, something of these emotions not easily describable. Please, have a look to them and send me your feedback.
Thank you very much

Tollwood-Winterfestival 2013

Dear Friends
Munich is well known all over the world by its Oktoberfest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oktoberfest) but certainly less known for its Tollwood (http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tollwood-Festival). Tollwood actually represents a festival occupying a surface comparable to that of the Oktoberfest in which different exotic and ethnic cultural elements mixed themselves creating a world outside of Bavaria. It is for this reason that last Thursday arriving to the underground station of Theresinwiese, here in Munich, and having a bit of time to spend, I decided to visit Tollwood Winterfestival 2013. The images, better than many words, show you the world of Tollwood.
Please don't forget to provide me with your feed-back.
