Astronomy at low cost

Dear Friends
it was in leaving Verona to Venice in the morning of 08/04/2015 that my attention was attracted by the Moon in its waning gibbous phase http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phases_of_the_Moon on its path towards its last quarter. I decided to take some image of it with my Nikon Coolpix 9700 at the maximum zooming, leaning on a balustrade. In looking to the results I can say to be pleasantly surprised. The details of the bord like the Mare Nectaris, the craters Theophilus, Cyrillus, Furnerius, Piccolomini and many other http://www.baalunarsection.org.uk/16name.jpg are clearly distinguishable. If you have a digital camera of any kind, try you too and let me have your impressions.
Salutations
Giancarlo
