what has Rocamadour, Marian shrine on the banks of the Dordogne river (South France), with Camaret-sur-Mer (Brittany) it easy to say. The link is the precious, Breton, gothic jewel of Notre Dame of Rocamadour, the Camaret's Marian maritime sanctuary. Its modest but vigorous architecture incarnates the simplicity and the faith of the sailors and fischermans of this part of Brittany and, as evident from the ex-votos hanging from the church walls and ceiling (see the images), the prays to the Holy Virgin of Rocamadour saved many lives of those caught at sea by storms.
