I think that everybody has heard of Sebastien Le Prestre de Vauban supreme military engeener of Louis XIV of France, the King Sun, and of his fortifications. Me too I heard something about, but never met him or one of his military constructions up to when I was in Camaret last year. Near Notre Dame de Rocamadour, the Tour Vauban imposes itself by the contrasting armony of its round and straight lines (see the images) and transmits us a hint inside the world of its talented constructor and hero of the Battle of Camaret.
